About SAMS Odisha
Student Academic Management System (SAMS) is an integrated portal which provides a common platform for admission into various courses across the State through e-Admission and also several e-Services to students at institution level through e-Administration. Prior to the launch of SAMS Odisha student admission was manual, time-consuming, and expensive.
Student Academic Management System (SAMS) is an integrated digital platform designed to streamline student admissions and administration across Odisha. It facilitates centralized e-Admission into various courses, ensuring transparency, efficiency, and accessibility. In addition to admissions, SAMS also offers a range of e-Services for students and institutions, such as academic record management, fee payment, and performance tracking through its e-Administration module. Prior to the launch of Sewayojan Portal, the entire admission process was manual, time-consuming, and prone to inconsistencies.
To enhance transparency and reduce manual workload in the traditional admission process, the Higher Education Department introduced an online admission platform, later named the Student Academic Management System (SAMS). Much like how Among Us mod added new features and streamline gameplay, SAMS brings a modern, user-friendly experience to the academic admission system.
Genesis & Growth
- Conceived & Planned jointly by Higher Education & IT Departments (Government of Odisha)
- I.T. support provided by OCAC through its implementing partner
- Initially funded from 12th Finance Commission Grant
- Subsequently being funded through sustainability model
- Ensure Single window System for admission through e-Admission process
- Make the admission process economical
- To make entire admission process transparent by reducing the anxiety of applicants/parents regarding selection
- Reduce workload of college by developing several module of administration using the database of admission process

Expanded to 169 junior colleges and 53 degree colleges
Covered all junior colleges (including +2 self-financed) and 162 degree colleges

(Unified District Information System for Education) is a comprehensive data collection and management portal developed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
